Then a class environmental preservation project inspires her creativity, as well as a new mission. But it's not long before Judy discovers that saving the world isn't easy, whether she is trying to convince her father not to drink rainforest bean coffee or her mom to dispose of a rubber toilet plunger. However, Judy persists, and while bandage-art fame eludes her, she does come up with a class recycling project that makes a difference. It also puts her in a very good mood. This charming read features characteristically snappy, humorous prose; expressive, witty, black-and-white illustrations; and some great ideas for classroom or home projects. Judy Moody Gets Famous

I recently bought the Judy Moody books for my 8 year old son. I read them too and found them to be enjoyable.
In this one Judy just wants to be famous SO bad especially after her younger brother Stink, gets to go to the White House and one of her classroom rivals wins a spelling bee. She, along with her closest friends, try hard to become "famous". Her first attempt of trying to make people believe that she actually has a cherry pit that belonged to George Washington end hilariously. Later she sees a chance to win a contest at the local pet store but at the last minute that one goes awry.
Judy does finally achieve "stardom" and it is very heartwarming.
You will enjoy these books as well as your children. My 8 year old son just loves them and can't wait for the next one. If your child enjoys the Junie B books, they will probably like these as well.

This series is a good reading level for third or fourth graders to take on independently. Younger children will enjoy having these stories read to them.
I like many things about this book. The story line is funny and engaging. There are many examples of onomatopoeia. Additionally, the book introduces interesting and educational facts. Judy is a character that many young girls will be able to relate to. Children with younger siblings will easily relate to and enjoy the interactions between Judy and her little brother, Stink.

Here is what I do not like: Judy does an awful lot of lying in this book and never faces any consequences. I believe this sends a terrible message to our children.

No other word but funny...

The sequel to Judy Moody can get no other word than being funny! After she fails to win the spelling bee contest and sees her arch rival Jessica win and get that beautiful tiara Judy Moody made it her job to become famous!! However like all other Judy Moody books things get out of hand and the book turns outragously funny. Judy's cat named "Mouse" helps achieve some fame but that isn't lasting. A hilirious book for all ages to enjoy and laugh about!!

About the Author
Christophe Felder is one of the world’s most respected pastry masters. After working at Fauchon and Guy Savoy, he served as the pastry chef at the Hôtel de Crillon for fifteen years. He has published more than twenty cookbooks in France, but this is the first to be translated into English. In 2009, he founded his own school devoted to teaching pastry skills to the home cook, located in Strasbourg, France.

Beautiful and Inspiring but Use with Caution!

I love the visuals and the format of this book and have tried several recipes. But one should be aware and read fully before starting even the easy ones. I am a novice but adventurous baker and simple things are missing from the basic/ easy recipes, like, after chilling tart dough for 2 hours, you need to take it out and let it warm up before rolling it out. I know that may seem like a no brainer but had that been included in the recipe I would have done that instead of finding out, cracking the very hard dough and consulting another recipe, and having to wait as well. Also, the tiramisu recipe has a big mistake on the coffee/ espresso mixture that goes in the cake. I followed very carefully, baked the cakes, they were VERY dark brown (not at all like the photo) and I had to remake since they tasted way too strong and way too dark. I remade and just added a fraction of the mixture. Of course, I had no idea here and don't know what to think since I don't know enough about baking to read between the lines. Looks like some proof reading was over looked. Still, I will continue to try more and hope for no more mistakes in editing.

disappointing

First of all, I will agree that this book LOOKS beautiful! The photos are stunning and they alone will inspire you to want to create amazing works of pastry perfection. But sadly, the recipes themselves are often incomplete or just don't work. I'm a fairly experienced baker and was looking for a great French pastry book to build on my limited experience that area. Though I followed several recipes exactly, I had problems with almost all of them. In one, the dough wouldn't come together - there were just not enough wet ingredients in the recipe. In another, the butter content was so high that the finished product didn't taste like much else. In a third, the product tasted great, but made WAY more than the 5 servings it claimed to make and the recipe lacked basic instructions such as what size serving glasses to use. Though it ended up not being an issue because I had enough to make 30 instead of 5. Luckily, I was able to find ways to make these items work out, but someone with less experience will be completely out of luck. I wasn't looking for inspiration, I was looking to learn great recipes and technique which, sadly, this book does not deliver.

I always look for cookbooks with pictures, so that I can be sure that I'm on the right track - this book on patisserie, not only has a picture of the finished product, but you can check in along the way that what you are doing looks the way that it should, with many pictures taking you along the individual steps. There's a good array of some basic recipes and then french specialities, or the little extras, which make something just special. As the name implies, there's a heavy French bent on the recipes with a few recipes from surrounding European countries.

The inked alpha and the sweet cupcake - a perfect combination!

Beneath These Shadows is the second book I've read of Meghan's and the 6th in the Beneath series. I was impressed with her writing in the first book, and it is obvious that as the series progresses, her writing just gets better and better.

In this book, we are introduced to Eden and Bishop. Eden is the illegitimate daughter of one of New York's most notorious crime bosses. Bishop is a tall and tatted hunk who works at Voodoo Ink with his sister Delilah.

I want to delve into each of these characters for a minute because I think Meghan did an amazing job of creating them and as a reader, I connected with both of them right from the start. Sometimes it takes a while to feel a connection with the hero and heroine, if at all, but Meghan crafted the backstories of these two people in such a way that we get enough to feel where both Eden and Bishop are coming from, and then throughout the story we are fed more and more tidbits of their past, their thoughts and emotions, and what they want out of life.

Eden, poor girl, has been sheltered all her life by her father. She's got a bodyguard constantly, can't go anywhere alone, has no friends and basically lives in a bubble. Her relationship with her father is tenuous at best, and she truly has no idea how he feels about her. Does her father shelter her away because he loves her and wants to protect her, or does he do it just to keep her out of his hair because he truly doesn't want to be bothered with her? She longs to know this answer, and between this and the being sheltered, she wants nothing more than to break free from this prison she's been in all her life.

Bishop, the quiet, stoic, alpha male. Tattoo artist, drop dead gorgeous, has women throwing themselves at him left and right. Never stays in one place for more than a few years, never forms any types of relationships. The only person he's truly devoted to is his sister, and a very small handful of friends from the tattoo shop. Something happened to him in the past, something he doesn't think he'll ever forgive himself for, something he should have resolved head on a long time ago but didn't so now he stays on the move.

When Eden is suddenly told she needs to get out of New York and lay low, she makes a spur of the moment decision to go to New Orleans, a place that has been on her bucket list for a long time. After landing there just as Mardi Gras is set to begin, she finds herself with no hotel, carrying around a fake ID and trying to figure out where to go or what to do. Bishop steps in when she is accosted and saves her. He helps her get a hotel room for a few days and they both think that's the last they'll see of each other. Fate obviously has other plans for them.

Watching the sparks fly and obvious attraction they have to each other is nothing new in a romance book, but for whatever reason (again, I attribute it to Meghan's writing) this didn't feel like a clichéd storyline. It was exciting to watch the slow burn occur between Bishop and Eden. They're both obviously keeping secrets from each other, but for right now, they're enjoying their time together, however much of it they get to have. Bishop soon realizes he wants something permanent with Eden, but Eden has been keeping some pretty big secrets from Bishop. And she has no idea when she will end up getting called back to New York when her father beckons.

Eden wants desperately to break out of the stifling bubble she's lived in and become an independent woman who takes care of herself. Bishop just wants to protect and take care of her, his alpha instincts kicking into high gear. Can these two find a balance where Eden realizes that she needs someone to watch out for her, especially in a place like New Orleans, and will Bishop be able to relax and let Eden try some things on her own, even if she fails in the attempt?

Meghan really wowed me with this book. The pace of the storyline was perfect, the descriptions, sights and sounds of New Orleans were spot on, and the dramatic build towards the end kept me on the edge of my seat, waiting to see how everything would play out! Prior to reading this, I had only read book 1 of the series and normally I can't stand to read a series out of order, even if the author states that each book is a standalone. My OCD tendencies just don't allow me to do it. But in this instance, I was lucky enough to have received an advanced copy so I went ahead and read it, wondering if I would feel that constant niggle in the back of my head that I was reading out of order, but quite honestly I didn't. Even though the characters from the other books are interspersed throughout the story, I never felt like I was out of the loop or questioning who someone was. Of course, now I will be going back and reading the rest of the series, just because I loved all of the characters and want to know more about them!

This was a great book!! As I mentioned I was impressed with Meghan's writing and can't wait to read more of her stories!

Fantastic!!

Beneath These Shadows it's the first book I've read by Meghan March and it definitely won't be my last. I absolutely devoured this book! I was hooked from page 1 and could not put it down. When I started reading, I knew this was part of a series but could be read as a standalone. Well now I must read all the books! Not only did I fall in love with the hot, sexy, brooding tattooed man bun wearing, bearded Bishop and sweet and sexy Eden; I also fell in love with all their friends and can't wait to read their stories.

If you love bad boy alpha males then you will love this book. Bishop's world completely turned upside down after a chance meeting/rescue of Eden outside of Voodoo Tattoos. He couldn't get this beautiful and obviously naïve girl off his mind and he had a fierce need to protect her. This was so unlike him. He was usually a one and done kind of guy; not doing relationships. Always running from his past. Never wanting to settle down.

Eden has been placed and ignored in a protective bubble her entire life. When this mob bosses daughter had to leave her home for her safety, she saw her chance to spread her wings and live. New Orleans was just the place for her to go. She wasn't prepared for the chaos Mardi Gras brought. She realized just how sheltered she'd been. Bishop was there to rescue her at every turn. As much as she wanted to be her own protector, she was helpless to resist this man. And boy who could resist! They were explosive and hot!! Burning the page it's hot!

Hands down best book in the whole series!!
Meghan March once again killed it!! Her intoxifying writing style bought this series, to a whole new level brilliance. She once again took us back to NOLA with a bang and a side of dirty!!

“Beneath These Shadows” it’s every bit a dirty girls fantasy come true!
God it’s smart, seductive, suspenseful, dirty, mouthwatering, pantie melting, jaw dropping and hilarious!! Sometimes all at the same time too. So when I said dirtier, I mean only in the best possible way!

You may want to have few essential items on hand. All while you devour “Beneath These Shadows!”

Like!!! “A Beneath These Shadows” check list!!

You never know when the drool will occur!

You will destroy yours!
