Excellent coaching techniques

I've read a few coaching books but none so detailed and organized as this one. The author has created a program that moves chapter to chapter, from beginning techniques to more advanced techniques. If followed in order, the potential coach with learn from start to finish how to begin a coaching session, what to say, how to organize the session correctly, how to communicate effectively with the client and motivate them to improve their lives. It also contains information on how to start your own coaching business. There are many valuable techniques to choose from as well. I was more than impressed with this book!

Inspiring and easy to use

This is my first review. I just had to tell you how this book has helped me in my personal life and also as a trainee life coach. The techniques are easy to follow and to implement into everyday life and what is really great, I can help my clients with techniques I have used on myself. The book is a pleasure to read, understand and interpret and also, it has been an invaluable learning tool and reference manual.

Curly Martin has captured the essence of life coaching in an inspiring and clear way. It knocks the socks off some of the theoretical tombs which pontificate about coaching but do not inspire people to become coaches. You immediately know when reading this book that Martin is a practicing life coach and she shares her knowledge and experiences freely. The best coaching book I have bought and I recommend this book to life coaches and people who want to help themselves to achieve results and to achieve their goals.

Had to buy this to go with a training. It was an easy read. Lots of practical advice. There was a lot of reliance on some techniques that are not supported by research, so I took it all with a grain of salt. Good advice on the business aspects of setting up a practice.

Content-based and with lots communicative tasks

This series provides well-designed grammar books in real Communicative-language-teaching approach. This course book has both clear and user-friendly grammar reference and a lot of interesting skill-building practices. It helps learners to practice grammar in controlled exercises and communicative tasks. The tasks are similar to what learners may encounters in real life, and some of them require oral negotiation during the problem-solving process. Thus, this material help learners to use English in carrying out tasks in real life. Unlike traditional structural-based and drill-focused grammar books, this material allows learners to practice and use grammar in a social context, so it is very suitable for EFL or ESL classrooms, but not for individual learning. The outstanding features of this grammar series are as follows: 1. The methodological emphasis on retrospective approach to grammar. For example, learners encounter the focused grammar structure (usually highlighted) in a reading passage or a dialogue in the first section. Then, they will read the explanation of that grammar usage in the second section. Examples are always included in the explanation, so it is easy to understand and remeber the grammar usage. 2. Instruction-friendly design: model dialogues or passage, explicit explanation of grammar, and ready-for-use tasks are provided 3.A good grammar companion to any other course book: units are arranged according to grammar categories, so learners can practice what they need. 4.Well-designed and interesting skill-building exercises. Some are task-based exercises and allow learners to practice grammar in real communication. 5. Focus on content. Wide-range of interesting subject matters in the presentation and practices. Usually, all ofthe exercises/tasks within one unit deal with the same grammar structure (e.g. passive voices)through the same content topic (e.g.naming) Sometimes, the topics of several units are related when these units deal with related grammar structures.

About the Author
Michael Jacobs is Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Health and Community Studies, Bournemouth University, having worked for many years at Leicester University. He is is a Fellow of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, a psychodynamic psychotherapist registered with UKCP. His publications on psychodynamic counselling and therapy are used as key texts on many training courses.

David Edwards has taught at Rhodes University in South Africa since 1972 and has a longstanding interest in humanistic and transpersonal psychotherapy. He offers postgraduate courses in transpersonal psychology and the expressive arts in therapy. He is also a Founding Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy and currently teaches and supervises trainee clinical psychologists in cognitive therapy and group therapy, and supervises research on clinical applications of cognitive therapy.

Howling Fun!

A very entertaining collection for horror fans, and worth a read for anyone that has seen The Howling or it's buzumpteen sequels. THE HOWLING is a fast paced horror novel that, in my opinion, is more entertaining than the film it was made into. The prose is sharp and the pacing is lightning fast. HOWLING 2 is a bit odd, and probably the least of the three, sticking with the Survivors of the original book being stalked by two of the main baddies from Drago. It's short, but has a lot of emphasis on running away from horror than showing actual horror. For a clearer sequel check out Howling 3, it adds to the first book explaining more of the original town and is much more expansive in setting than the other entries.

Well presented and if you like your horror to feel pulpy with a side of sexy, this is for you.

Three great werewolf tales!

Three great werewolf novels together in a trilogy set! Convenient and it's cheaper than buying the novels separately. How great is that?!! Sure, you can buy the paperbacks one at a time but this trilogy package is currently only available for the Kindle and it comes your way courtesy of the folks at Books of the Dead Press.

As for the novels themselves, they have aged well over the years and haven't lost any of their edge. They are neither too long nor too short and they tie together nicely as a trilogy but each could be considered to be a stand-alone novel.

Gary Brandner creates characters that we come to care about as they evolve while he piles on the suspense, throws in a sprinkling of humor and a pinch of sensuality and lets it all simmer before blowing the lid off in an explosive climax.

If you are into werewolf tales and don't mind stories set in the late 1970s and early 1980s, then you can't go wrong with these three fantastic tales.

Who Knew?

I'm a huge fan of the original Howling film. The others...not so much. It was on TV recently, and I noticed in the credits that it was based on the book by Gary Brandner. I had completely missed this in the countless other times I'd watched the movie! So, I hopped on Amazon to see if it was available, and discovered that it was a trilogy! Awesome!

Werewolves have always seemed to play second fiddle to vampires (and now zombies), and there just not enough stories about them.

If you're a fan of werewolves, The Howling movie(s), or just horror in general, but this trilogy. You won't be disappointed.
